Privacy Policy

The Hive CDA, LLC
Effective date: September 16, 2026

The Hive CDA, LLC ("The Hive," "we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of the families and visitors who use our website, communicate with us, enroll in our programs, or use our services. This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to information collected through https://cdahive.com, our forms, our communications, and services we provide through third-party platforms such as Playground. Playground's own privacy policy and terms also apply when you use its website, application, or services.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with The Hive, we may collect:

  • Parent, guardian, and authorized-adult information, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, relationships to a child, account credentials, pickup authorizations, identity-verification information, and emergency-contact information.

  • Child information, such as a child's name, date of birth, age, photograph, attendance and check-in/check-out records, program or membership information, authorized pickup persons, interests, and information a parent or guardian chooses to provide.

  • Health and safety information, such as allergies, dietary needs, medications, immunization records, medical conditions, accessibility needs, emergency instructions, incident records, and other information needed to provide safe services.

  • Enrollment and transaction information, such as tour requests, enrollment forms, waivers, agreements, electronic signatures, bookings, attendance, membership or package selections, invoices, payment status, and transaction history. Payment card and bank information may be collected and processed directly by Playground, Stripe, or another payment processor rather than stored by The Hive.

  • Communications, including emails, text messages, in-app messages, customer-service requests, survey responses, and records of your communication preferences.

  • Photos, videos, and media, when permitted by the consent choices and agreements applicable to your family.

  • Website and device information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, dates and times of visits, and cookie or analytics information.

  • Other information you provide, including information submitted through contact forms, applications, promotions, or in person.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • directly from parents, guardians, authorized adults, website visitors, and prospective customers;

  • through our website, forms, enrollment process, and communications;

  • through Playground and its parent-facing application;

  • from payment processors and other vendors that help us operate our business; and

  • automatically through cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies used on our website.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • respond to questions and schedule tours;

  • process enrollment, registration, memberships, hour packs, reservations, and birthday-party bookings;

  • create and administer family accounts;

  • verify authorized pickup persons and manage check-in and check-out;

  • provide supervision, activities, preschool programming, and other requested services;

  • protect children's health and safety and respond to emergencies;

  • communicate daily updates, attendance information, schedule changes, closures, incidents, reminders, billing notices, and other service-related information;

  • send newsletters, announcements, promotions, and offers when permitted by law and consistent with your communication choices;

  • process payments, prevent fraud, collect amounts owed, and maintain business records;

  • personalize and improve our services, website, and family experience;

  • maintain security, investigate suspected misuse, and enforce our agreements and policies;

  • comply with licensing, insurance, tax, accounting, recordkeeping, legal, and regulatory obligations; and

  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

4. Email, Text Messages, and App Communications

We may communicate through email, SMS/text message, telephone, and Playground's parent application.

Operational and safety communications may include enrollment confirmations, schedule or closure notices, attendance and pickup messages, child updates, incident or emergency communications, billing notices, and changes affecting services. These messages may be necessary to provide services or protect a child.

With any consent required by law, we may also send promotional emails or text messages about programs, events, openings, and offers. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP and may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email. You may still receive non-marketing communications that are necessary for your account, transactions, safety, or services.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:

  • Playground, which supports registration, family accounts, attendance, paperwork, billing, communications, and related operations;

  • payment processors, including Stripe or another processor used through Playground;

  • website, hosting, analytics, communications, scheduling, accounting, and technology providers;

  • professional advisers and insurers, such as accountants, attorneys, consultants, and insurance providers;

  • government, licensing, emergency, or law-enforcement authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect a child or another person;

  • a successor or transaction partner in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business; and

  • other parties at your direction or with your consent.

Service providers may use information only as allowed by their agreements with us and their own applicable privacy terms. We do not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose a child's personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

6. Children's Information

Our services are intended to be arranged and managed by parents or legal guardians. We do not intend for children under 13 to create accounts or submit personal information directly through our public website. A parent or guardian may provide information about a child so that The Hive can evaluate enrollment, provide services, communicate with the family, meet safety needs, and comply with legal obligations.

If you believe a child has submitted information directly to our public website without appropriate parental involvement, contact us so we can review and address the request.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember preferences, understand website traffic, improve performance, and help protect against fraud or misuse. We may use third-party analytics providers that receive device and usage information.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website features. If we later use advertising cookies or technologies that require additional consent, we will provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining enrollment and attendance records, meeting licensing and insurance requirements, resolving disputes, collecting payments, enforcing agreements, and complying with law. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and applicable requirements. Third-party providers may maintain information according to their own retention policies and our agreements with them.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No website, application, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Families are responsible for protecting account credentials and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your Choices and Requests

You may contact us to:

  • update or correct contact, account, or child information;

  • change communication preferences;

  • ask questions about information associated with your family; or

  • request deletion of information, subject to legal, licensing, safety, accounting, contractual, and record-retention obligations.

Some account information may also be reviewed or updated through Playground. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request involving a child or family account.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website and communications may link to or integrate with services operated by third parties, including Playground and payment processors. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
